Shes Insatiable

She’s Insatiable firms for NZ Cup

She’s Insatiable has staged a winning dress-rehearsal for next week’s New Zealand Cup (3200m) at Riccarton.

The Ustinov mare settled beautifully for Jillian Morris and proved too strong for her rivals in the LR Metropolitan Trophy (2500m) on Saturday.  She got the upper-hand to defeat Deliciano by three-quarters of a length and there was more than four lengths to the third horse home.

“I’m looking forward to the Cup,” Morris said.  “This mare will back up – no problems.”

She’s Insatiable (6m Ustinov – Checkered Past by Pentire) had won the NZ Cup Trial (1800) in September for part-owner and trainer Terrill Charles.  “It was a great win and she was presently perfectly today,” Morris added.  “Terrill does an amazing job with her horses and deserves every success.”

The NZ TAB had rated She’s Insatiable a $61 outsider for the G3 New Zealand Cup but she plummeted to $12 on Saturday evening.  Blizzard is the $6 favourite ahead of Deliciano at $8.

She’s Insatiable is from the family of champion galloper Mahogany (Last Tycoon).  Her dam Checkered Past won a half-dozen races on either side of the Tasman for Shaune Ritchie and Chris Waller.

Ustinov (Aus) stands north of Ballarat at Moorookyle Park for a $4,400 (inc gst) service fee.  He has sired four stakes winners – She’s Insatiable follows Vonusti (G1 Telegraph Hcp), Antarctic Miss (G3 MVRC Champagne Stakes) and Sarsarun (LR Karaka Classic).
